week 4 v Tecos preview
By: j | August 14th, 2008With Richardo Lavolpe serving his four-match ban due to last weeks infraction, Flavio Davino will handle the sideline duties as the Tecos visit Tecnológico this Saturday. The Rayados will look to employ a aggressive attack with the trio of Humberto Suazo, Jared Borgetti and Carlos Ochoa beginning to click at full-speed. Over the first few weeks of the campaign, possibly the biggest surprise is improved passing, maturity and team-play of Chupete.
The Tecos have had a solid start to the campaign with victories over the Indios and Chivas in weeks one and two, before suffering 2-0 loss to a tough Cruz Azul squad. They will look to control play with a patient build-up and do possess the ability to counter, although they might be more on their heels in concern of the Rayados doing the same. To follow Cruz Azul’s plan, tight physical marketing of their striking duo will create havoc and a particular eye should look towards a more aerial attack in crosses and volleys. Shut-down Luis Alonso Sandoval, Rodrigo Ruiz and Robert De Pinho and Teco’s offensive threat dies out however Robert De Pinho will be primed and ready to find the back of the net against his former team.
Monterrey is likely to be without Jesús Arellano and Gonzalo Choy who will are listed as doubtful. The Tecos general play fits well into Monterrey’s counter-attacking preference and the Rayados will look to exploit that as well spread the play wide and bring Carlos Ochoa forward. This has all the makings of a highly explosive match and one you don’t want to miss out on.
I report on the match at its completion.
