the start of training camp

By: j | June 23rd, 2008

Training camp started today at 7:00 am this morning in Acapulco. The team started under the leadership of head conditioning coach Milton Graniolati making use of sprint conditioning and fitness work on the grass surfaces of a nearby golf course.

Of the major changes is most notably, Walter Erviti departure after six extraordinary years for the Rayados (200 plus appearances) and Robert de Pinho being loaned to the Tecos after his first season with the team. While I have a full roster review coming shortly, I thought I’d mention quickly the exciting addition of twenty-four year old Argentine defender from Estudiantes in La Plata, Argentina. This was a strategically important move that Ricardo Lavolpe structured to shore up the defense and pair him with Diego Ordaz and Felipe Baloy.
