New Transfers For Apertura 2009

Monterreys new Blood

The new blood for our team has been selected and transfered from the 2009 Mexican Draft.

Starting off on the area where the team clearly needed the most attention. Goalkeeping.
Omar “El Gato” Ortiz returns to Monterrey after 7 years. Coming from Atlante and not getting much playing there, El Gato comes back excited to play an show his goalkeeping skills.

In the Defense Monterrey signed Duilio Davino from Puebla FC, and Elliot Huitron returns after playing a couple of years with Tijuana in Liga De Acenso(Formally known as Primera Division A). Duilio Davino coming from a great season with Puebla. Starting in every game of the season Davino became a very important part of Puebla’s defense. With him Puebla went all the way up to Semifinals of Clausura 09.

For the Midfield (Which in my opinion is what Monterrey needs less of) Manuel “Tripa” Perez returns to the team from being loaned to Indios FC for a year. Juan Carlos “Negro” Medina was on loan with Monterrey and for this year he was bought and is staying with the team for the next three years.

For the Offense Monterrey has transferred Sergio Santana (Which in my opinion is a fantastic add to the team) from Toluca. With Toluca Santana played 15 games and scored 4 goals. Hopefully Santana can pair up with Suazo and create a grate Offense duo. our offense right now is great but it seems that the team might depend a lot on Suazo and now iwth two grate attackers i am sure the team can improve greatly.

With these transfers in my opinion The team has enough to form two teams. Now that Monterrey has been qualified for the Next Copa Sudamericana, I think the team has everything to do great in the Cup and in the Apertura 09.
