The new and Official Monterrey kit for Apertura 2009 & Clausura 2010 have been presented to the public. Last night Monterrey fans gathered them selves to observe the presentation of the Rayados jersey for next season at El Barrial. The new jersey have been greatly changed from last years jerseys. Now adding a new color that take us back in time to a glorious year of this team. The color Red comes back replacing our third color Orange. Not since the 80’s that Monterrey have used the color red, A color that we wore in the very first victory of the team in Mexico ‘86. This new kit really brings back a classic look of the team. Nike was clearly trying to set a classic look to the jersey and they really accomplished that with this new kit. The third color this time stands out even more, specially with the red socks, which we have back in our team. Also the color white comes back, taking a big part of the Away jersey. A color that is very important of the team and a color that has not been really represented much in the last couple of years.
The Home Kit come with more stripes in the shirt. The stripes now have a smaller Red stripe on each side of the Blue stripe. The blue shorts pretty much alike the past ones but now with red lining and a red Nike swoosh just like the one on the jersey. As a big part now of the team the red socks really stand out. Replacing the usual blue socks. In my opinion the really look better and more attractive that the past ones. Also a new add to the shirt is the V neck which gives it a more classic look. Now, a big thing that im sure a lot of people are mad at is the big white square used to show the BIMBO sponsor. I really don’t know why they did this. I would of preferred logo used in the old jersey because its not as big and ugly as the one here.
Then comes the Away kit which really gives Monterrey the color white back. For this shirt the white is greatly used and is really well used. In this jersey the line don’t really stand out most, sense they are very thin. Kind of like a baseball jersey. The red does not appear in this kit and in my opinion is really good shirt.
