Monterrey – Indios Preview

By: Jose | July 15th, 2009

After a 1-0 loss against Jaguares, Monterrey will be facing off in a friendly match against Indios De Ciudad Juarez tonight at 8:00PM in La Joya, Texas. Another friendly to inspect every single player of the team and decide the starting 11 for the up coming season. Monterrey will actually be facing off against Indios in 10 days again but this time to win 3 points in the first week of Apertura 2009. Indios coming from a friendly win against Pachuca, and Monterrey coming from a loss of the same score against Jaguarez are expected to play a good game today in Texas. I am expecting for Monterrey to use a usual 4-4-2 formation tonight with Diego Martínez, Ordaz, Basanta y William Paredes as defense, Gerardo Galindo, Ayovi, Luis Perez, and Osvaldo Martínez for midfield and Santana with De Nigris as our attackers. Suazo and Arellano with less likely see a lot of action in this game but are expected to play a couple of minutes. In training after arrival in Texas the team mainly focused on training in the defensive side. Jesus Arellano did not appear in training due to pain in knee.

In other news Paraguayan team Libertad have arrived in Monterrey for the next and last friendly game Monterrey will have. This game will be the Official presentation of Monterrey to us, the fans. In this game the team will also be presenting the new Nike Jersey for Apertura 2009-2010. The game will be next Saturday the 18th of July at home in Estadio Technologico at 9:00 PM local.
