Monterrey Fineshes With Win.

By: Jose | July 19th, 2009

Last night Monterrey faced of Paraguayan team Libertad in the last preseason game and the Official Presentation of the team. The team did a great and a very entertaining presentation as they entered the field in Go-Karts and dressed as a professional car driver. The players raced in the track field of the stadium for the presentation. Each kart had the players name and number on it. Racing on the track as fireworks were on Monterrey did a great presentation. Next, Monterrey vs Libertad

The Game: Starting with a 5 men defense as Jonathan guarded the net, Ayoví, Basanta, Davino, Ordaz y Medina started in the defense alike the last game against Indios. In the midfield only three with Galindo, Lucho, and Martinez, and on the offense De Nigris & Santana. The first half was a very weak and slow half. Not really many action from both teams. Only a few action and Monterrey only had one clear opportunity in the first to get in the net of Jorge Bava. In a play created by Ayovi & Paredes sending a center that which Santana couldn’t finish the shot right. The only important thing that happened in this first half was the bad injury of Luis Perez who came out in minute 20 due to a minor bad feeling in his leg.

Second Half: The most important half of the game. Osvaldo Martinez had a couple of attacks but none landed as planned. A major partnership created in the game was between Ayovi & Paredes as they started to create attacks in the left. In a play created by Martinez, Ayovi center a perfect ball to Santana as he shoots and scores the victory for the game. The rest of the game went good, Suazo came in for Santana and changed the game a lot and also helping it a lot too. Everything of the rest went good until a shot from Libertad’s forward and as it almost goes in William Paredes takes out the ball right in line. Saved us form the tie.

Conclusion: At the end the team played a good game. Specially in the second half which was where they did the greatest damage and created the most action and plays. Next up, Monterrey vs Indios – Jornada 1 – Apertura 2009. The game will be next Saturday the 25th of July.
