

Monterrey (2)3-3(3) Estudiantes.

Rayados tied last night against Estudiantes Tecos by three goals and lost in penalties 2-3. Now Monterrey will face off nest Saturday against Jaguares for the third place fo the cup.
Tecos first took advantage in the game at minute 10 by an early goal by Rafael Medina. Nine minutes later Fredy Barreiro adds one more goal to the team. Monterrey losing by 2 responded and Ayovi scored the first goal of the team at minute 21 from a great powerful shot that the keeper gets to touch but just ends up helping the ball going in the net. Then at minute 33 Monterrey ties it all up when Aldo De Nigris shoots a long cross from the right. The keeper comes out and misses the ball giving Dario Carreno a perfect opportunity and space to score the second goal for Rayados as he just taps the ball in the net. Like that Monterey went up from losing 2-0.
For the second half Vucetich took out José MarÃa Basanta & Diego MartÃnez to give Severo Meza & Duilio Davino a chance to play. Early in the game at minute 12 Dario Carreno gives crosses the ball from the right as Aldo finds it and scores the the goal to give Monterrey the lead. At minute 16 Vucetich decides to make more changes so he puts in Elliott Huitrón for AyovÃ, Jesús Eduardo Zavala for Gerardo Galindo, Humberto Suazo for Aldo de Nigris and Jesús Arellano for DarÃo Carreño. At minute 24 Osvaldo Martinez comes out for Manuel Perez. Then at minute 32 Tecos ties the game with a goal by Samuel Ochoa. Like this Rayados tie by 3. As result of the tie both teams head to penalty shots where Tecos wins 3-2. For Monterrey Suazo & Arellano scores the 2 penalties as Manuel Pérez, Juan Carlos Medina, William Paredes and Omar Ortiz miss theirs. Like this Monterrey losses their 3rd pre-season game.
