By: Jose | July 6th, 2009

Monterrey wins their first pre-season game. In a very good game played by both teams Monterrey wins their first our of five friendly games for pre-season.
The starting 11 Vucetich picked for the first half were a 4-4-2 formation with the following players. GOALKEEPER – Jonathan Orozco, DEFENSE – Diego Martínez, Diego Ordaz, José Basanta, William Paredes, MIDFIELD – Osvaldo Martínez, Gerardo Galindo, Luis Perez, Walter Ayoví, OFFENSE – Antonio de Nigris & Sergio Santana. All first half the game was mainly controlled by Monterrey. They created a few of chances, but they couldn’t find the goal. Cracovia had couple of chances but they couldn’t finish their play. The first half ended in a 0 goal tie with not a lot of action.
Now the second half was completely different. The team started with 4 changes in the team. Omar Ortiz, Eliott Huitrón, Juan Carlos Medina and Duilio Davino stared in the 11 for the second half. Starting the game Monterrey had control and right at the first minute Ayovi scores the first goal of the game. Shooting it from the left side to the top middle of the net and going pass the goalkeeper. Like this Monterrey had take the advantage and controlling the game even better. After the goal Cracovia Created a great play and got past the defense but gave a very slow shot that went pass the pole. At minute 60 Jesús Arellano, Darío Carreño, Jesús Zavala came in. Five minutes later Manuel Pérez and Severo Meza also came in the game. At minute 69 from a play created by Jesus ” El KBrito” Arellano, “Negro” Medina and “Tripa” Perez, Medina gets a pass from Perez inside the box and as Cracovia’s keeper comes out Medina takes that advantage and shoots the ball to create the second and final goal of the match.
I attended the game and there was a lot of Monterrey fans as well as Cracovia and Poland fans. The stadium was not full but there was a big amount of supporters. I couldn’t get pictures since my dumbass left the camera at the hotel lol. But i took a some with my phone. Here is a few.
