Monarcas at the Tecnológico
By: j | September 20th, 2008The all-new defensively sound Rayados welcome Monarcas to the Tecnológico in a few hours in an important Primera División de México. Jonathan Orozco enters the match with nearly three-hundred minutes of without letting a goal behind him and somehow through the disarray of mid-August, Monterrey has found a solid defensive structure. A win is crucial to Ricardo Lavolpe’s club if they are to keep pace with Atlante and Santos.

In last seasons encounter at the Tecnológico, Monarcas handed Monterrey a tough 2-1 loss. Monterrey will be counting on the backline of José MarÃa Basanta, Diego Ordaz and Felipe Baloy to continue their recent success and will have Jesús Arellano back healthy as well. The Rayados will unleash Humberto Suazo, Carlos Ochoa and Jared Borgetti again in the attack but must be wary Monarcas in the counter attack. Chupete’s Chilean national teammate Hugo Droguett new to Monarcas, is ready for a break-out match and must be marked closely.
I will report on the match as it concludes.
