good friendly in North Carolina

By: j | July 20th, 2008

In the final swing of the promotional tour, the Rayados met the Carolina Red Hawks in from of 7,000 fans of Wake Med Stadium. The match, played in hot conditions, ended in a scoreless draw and while only a friendly they went to a penalty shoot-out which the Rayados won 4-1.

Ricardo Lavolpe dispatched the squad with a 3-5-2 formation, with greater focus of the defensive pairing of Diego Ordaz, Felipe Baloy and José Basanta, which is critical for the squads success. Of important note, after working together through camp you’re starting to see a sense of familiarity with the back-line. Beyond that it was a cautious “run-out” with the start of the season so close.

With the season only one week away it is time to prepare for the opening match of the season, next Sunday against Puebla at Cuauhtémoc. Can’t wait!

and yes, those are the new kits - look great, must-have.
