changes for the Clausura

By: j | January 4th, 2009

Leading into the opening match of the Clausura against Puebla, the Rayados have went through a significant series of changes in the line-up. Supporters should be confident that the club has made a strong effort to satisfy club President Jorge Urdiales firm goal of achieving thirty points.

The most noteworthy departures are Carlos Ochoa, who joined with Chivas on-loan but with a option to purchase, El Tri honoured Jared Borgetti along with José Joel González to Necaxa, Arturo Alvarado and Egidio Arévalo to San Luis and Hiber Ruiz.

Arriving in Monterrey is a bevy of very talented Footballers to satisfy their goals although supporters will need to temper their excitement as the changes are primarily from loans and the club will need to address long term plans without further delay. Ricardo La Volpe has looked long and hard to find the right player to fit into his system Osvaldo Martínez of Asunción’s Club Libertad will suit the counter-attack rich Rayados. Juan Carlos Medina came over from América on a six month loan without an option to purchase. On loan as well Luis Alonso Sandoval comes over from Tecos and to complete a more solidified midfield is veteran Gerardo Galindo from Necaxa. Diego Martínez will provide a great deal of stability with his versatile playing style and Aldo de Nigris joins the strike-force on-loan from Necaxa.

Less than two weeks till the opening match!
