academy on the horizon

By: j | July 8th, 2008

Today Monterrey opened their new facility to a cheering crowd of fans with the added expectation of a broader academy system in the not-so distant future. The facility will equally be used by lower division squads but as noted by the coaching staff, it will help create “Rayados of the future”. On a broader perspective I’m hopeful that we’ll see facilities of this grade become more common within all of México in the ongoing effort to improve overall play and the hopes of El Tri.

Not a big Rayados fan, but I’m glad to and hope to see more of this in the future. Mexican teams can only think of tomorrow, and not of the day after, and after that, and so on.
