Sven-Göran Eriksson’s first roster as head of El Tri rewarded the play of Rayados Luis Pérez and Carlos Ochoa naming them to national squad. Ricardo Lavolpe noted that while he had met with Sven, he did not influence the decision, with all his efforts dedicated to Monterrey.
